I have an unusual situation:

The tools bar, options palette, and scroll bars on all windows open have been replaced by garbage artifacts. I can mouse over the area and partially reveal, for example, the move tool. The artifacting looks like small sea of reds, greens, and blues in a pixel pattern. I do not know any other way to explain what this looks like. I’ve deleted preferences, re-installed PS CS2 from original disk, reset preferences at start up of PS… I am at a loss for what to do now. Any suggestions???

Running PS CS2 9.0.2, Macintosh OSX 10.3.9, Dual 2 GHz Power PC G5, 2 GB DDR SDRAM

Several possibilities:

You may have a corrupt User account.
Make a new one and log in from it and see if that helps.

You may have a corrupt System.
Archive & Install a new one from your original CD and upgrade by first downloading and using the latest COMBO Updater. (Any reason that you didn’t upgrade to Tiger and 10.4.8?)

You may have bad Hardware: RAM, video card, HDs etc.
