Some images rotate when updating them in InDesign after editing and saving them from Photoshop CS2. Photoshop CS2 also rotates some images simply upon opening them, where this does not occur using Photoshop 7. I
We believe EXIF data may be causing our problem. Anyway to prevent the rotation? For image editing we are using Macintosh computers, PPC and Intel, Mac OS 10.4, Mac Photoshop CS 9.0.2. For page layout we are using both Mac and PC versions of InDesign 2.0, CS, and CS2. All computers are new or very late model and have 1 – 3 GBs of RAM. PCs all use XP Pro.

You don’t say but I would guess these are images from a digital camera. Turn off the rotate function in the camera.

Also you should not be placing Jpegs in ID without processing them first in photoshop (changing resolution and saving as something else other than a Jpeg.

Yes, many images are from digital cameras. The images are customer supplied, we have no control of rotation on their end. We do make adjustments to all images and perform a save as from Photoshop.
