Matching HP printer to photoshop7

I’m tring to match my HP photosmart 8150 to photoshop 7. I have to make my screen pictures very dark to get print correct. I have a G4 powerbook using osx 10.4.8.
Any idea what my colour settings should be in working spaces and colour management policies. Ta

first I would guess you need to calibrate your monitor.
