I’ve got a file from a website that I created in Photoshop 5.5 (Mac). Now, a few years later, I need to change it. But I can’t open it in Photoshop CS2! I’ve tried opening it from within the program, and also tried double-clicking it, and dragging it to the Photoshop icon in the dock.

I’d sure appreciate some help–especially appreciated as tomorrow is my birthday!

Thanks,
Dan

You should have no problem opening the file unless it is corrupt

Can you email me the file?

Zip it first.

OK Dan emailed me the file and it would not open in CS2. It might have opened if I waited long enough. I forced quit CS2 and fired up Photoshop 7. It opened right up. I then resaved and it opened up in CS2. Another reason not to delete older versions from your computer.

Chris Cox is there any reason why this happened? shouldn’t you be able to open PS5.5 files in CS2?

No idea – it should be working.
Could you send a copy of that file to Scott Byer (byer at adobe dot com)?
