Because "the layer is not a valid text layer"

Is there a fix for this? Its on all files with text made in 7.0 or below.

Did you install the 7.0.1 update?

PS 7.0 had some text layer bugs that were fixed in 7.0.1. (a free update)

I’m trying to figure out what the real problem is – and there is a strong possibility that the problem is how the files were saved in PS 7 (if it lacked the update).

It could also be due to a corrupt font, but I doubt it because of the error message.

If you did save them from 7.0.1, then we’ll need to get a copy of a file that shows this error message so we can debug it and see what is causing the error.

The files were made in 7.0 so that makes sense, however, will I be able to open them in 7.0.1 or will it give me the same message as CS?

7.0.1 should fix the damage from 7.0 when you save the files.
