-The best quality would come from no filter at all, sharp scan (if you can print stochastic) -next best from scanning (or shooting) slightly out-of-focus [some scanners can and all cameras] -then would come scanning tilted at the highest optical resolution and resampling down with the crop tool when straightening the scan -blur, despecle and/or median are last resorts and should be avoided at most costs (not all : )
