Hi all,

I will need to free up space on my Pbase account. For those who didn’t look at it (or want one last
look), here’s the address again :

http://www.pbase.com/carbone/gradients_museum

The museum will be removed over the weekend.

Thanks for all those who participated, it’s became the most… colourfull… gallery of all 😉

Hi Ray, I just looked thru them all again, wow they were indeed beautiful. Thank you for running this tutorial and for using your pbase account for the album, it was a lot of fun!
I also had to free up some of my pbase, and my poor hard drive was getting very very full, glad I got an external hd.

This is a bit OT, but this morning while we were watching the news on TV, the announcer was talking about the kidnapping of the 11 year old girl in Florida. When they showed the actual footage taken by the security camera, they also showed an enhanced group of pictures with a red circle around the zooms. I just happened to glance at the TV and it was a Mac computer and I think that it was Photoshop that they were using to sharpen the closeups. It was so quick, that I didn’t have a chance to really look closely, and I was way across the room, but I do think that they were using Photoshop from what I could see of the menu.
Interesting. I wonder if anybody else here happened to see the same news show, and were closer to their TV screen.

It was reported that NASA provided the sharpened close-ups on there super computers.

That is what I originally heard too, but maybe this was from the Florida news station that was having that interview with the Sarasota police.
I will watch it again on the news at noon, if I think of it again. Interesting.

I believe it is safe to say that most if not all news bureaus have a Mac and Photoshop as do most larger Police forces. I have ran across threads were police investigators and coroners were discussing different Photoshop techniques.

Neat, thanks, I guess what I glimpsed was correct then.

Jane I am trying to find a thread I read early last year that I was referring to. They were discussing the fine line between enhancement and manipulation and it’s implications in investigative work and court cases. If I find it I will post the link.

Hi Jim, I think I remember that one.
Our town no longer lets you come in with your own digital photos for licenses, in this day and age of digital goodies, we could really ‘enhance’ our pictures. Could really make some funny ones too. Like the drivers license that I made for our dog,,,,,,

DOROTHY, I loved all the images, maybe wouldn’t want some as my bedroom wallpaper but … 2 of yours happen to hit the spot.
When I feel quiet and comfy I’d want to have #3 around me. When I’m frustrated and on the bridge rail I think #5 would be appropriate.

RAY, Thaks for reminding us to take another look. Wonder what you’ll come up with next ??? Marty

Marty, I don’t have ideas for a new museum for now.. If you (or someone else) has a proposal, I’m opened to hear it 🙂
