Rotate portion of layer… simple?

I’d like to select a portion of raster data in a
layer and rotate it 90 degrees counter-clockwise.

How can I do this?

Select it and rotate it. (sometimes selection isn’t neccessary if the object is bounded and alone on the layer)

I thought so too, but that just rotates the selection,
not the bits of raster underneath the selection.

I thought so too, but that just rotates the selection,
not the bits of raster underneath the selection.

1. Make sure you are using transform under the edit menu–not the select menu. The first transforms what is IN the selection—the other just transforms the selection itself

2. Make sure you have the right layer selected in the layers pallete
