I have a predominate number of Arabic and Chinese fonts that I’ll never use in my windows XP Professional, which results in my having a huge list of unnesessary fonts to go thru when I’m ready to type in CS2. My regional options menu is activated to use arabic and chinese, but this is excessive. Is there anything that can be done to mute theses fonts
I also just tried to download the abrviewer.sourceforge.net/ to help me organize fonts, buy the page is no longer active. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you need a font management program…

See
http://www.extensis.com/en/products/font_management/product_ information.jsp?locale=en_US&id=1060

This allows you to load/unload font sets on demand, create font sets/groups etc…
I couldn’t live without Suitcase now… 😉

Thanks for your help, I’ll look into this product. I have another newbee question. Are there fonts that must remain in the computer in order for it to function properly? I went through my ‘fonts’ in the control panel and removed the larger files in order to get new ones into my list. Haven’t done anything permanent yet
