I’m attempting to crop numerous large files (2.91 MP JPG) into a standardized size for printing. Ideally, I’d like to create a crop preset to 2.5 x 3.5 inches, for example. If I understand correctly, though, this will necessitate resampling of the image, which is undesireable. My final image needs to print at a small size but with a high resolution (at least 300 ppi).
I will not be printing these images myself; they are to be submitted for publication.
I’ve read thru the info here & I am still confused as to what I can do with the Crop Tool, and what I will then be able to do in the Image Size menu – or should do. Need I even be concerned about resampling, if I am converting such a big file to such a small one?
Thanks…
