I have a picture made of two, with high tranparency, that I have mounted in a InDesign document. The background color is a CMYK color. The problem is that when I mounted it the background color looked different than in the rest of the ID document when I printed it.
First I thought that it had something to do with mounting it in ID, so I made it complete in Photoshop and printed it directly from PS. Same problem – the color is different from ID when I print it although it has the same CMYK number.
Tried and saved it as PDF-file and printed it – same problem. The color settings is the same in PS as in ID. Someone said that it had to do something with the printer settings so I tried and changed them – same problem.
On screen it looks the same, but when I print it differs. I have chosen the color from printed reference pages that can be made from my printer – a Xerox Phaser 8400. And the color I have chosen is consistent with the one I get when printing from ID, but differs in PS.
The color from Photoshop looks "dusky".
Please help me! This is driving me crazy, this is something I have to send to the printers soon and I dont want to risk that this dull color goes along with half of the documents.
