I am trying to replace red eye, as a means of learning the photoshop, and am unable to replace with black.

Choosing brighter colours from the various methods as foreground seems to work OK but black, anything close to it or with the sliders all set to 0 gives me a pale pink colour over the background.

What have I unknowingly set?

Thanks
Jon

Out of interest this same problem is on the Adobe site forums, with no solution yet!

Hmmm not sure but think you might have masking switched on, two icons 3rd up from the bottom of the tool box, ensure left most one is clicked

f=Ma well, nearly…

No I just tried that.

Its as if it won’t change the luminosity, just the colour. Like it was converting the picked colour to grayscale.

In practice it seems to have the same effect as having saturation picked instead of colour. But this only is the case when trying to replace with black.

Thanks for suggestions.
