CS browser won’t show thumbnails

I downloaded some Nikon raw files, attempted to do a batch action on them and the thumbnails disappeared. Can’t get them back, even though the the files are still in the Picture folder and they show up in Nikon View and Photoshop Elements 2. I tried downloading the same photos again; they showed up and then again mysteriously disappeared. Any ideas what is wrong?

If you have any Nikon Plug-ins installed, take them out. Nikon software conflicts with ACR.
