Just when I was starting to accept, and maybe like, the new scheme of linking layers, I found something that will become very problematic.
In CS and below, when you linked layers, you could Ctrl-E to merge the linked layers. The name of the new layer was the name of the highlighted layer.
Well, in CS2, when you link layers and merge them, the name of the new layer is the name of the topmost linked layer. YUCK!
So if I have layer Andy on top of layer Bob, which is on top of layer Charlie, then it is impossible to merge those three layers and have the new layer be named Bob or Charlie – it will always be named Andy.
Why oh why did Adobe have to take something that wasn’t broke and ‘fix’ it? Better yet, has anybody figured out a workaround to this?
