I recentaly (Canon scanner) scaned a picture into Elements 2, and printed it using a Canon printer,860 series,When I scan into Elements the color of the background is not the same as the picture. Is this a scanner problem or Elements, The picture when printed also has the background color changed.

My first thought was that this is likely a monitor calibration problem. However, if the print and the monitor display match then that isn’t the solution. It could be just a weird color that wasn’t reproduced correctly. Have you tried adding a Hue/saturation adjustment layer and then instead of working with the Master setting change it to the color closest to your background and then making adjustments to make it match?

I would check the settings on your scanner, first of all. In advanced mode, the canons give you quite a bit of leeway on color. Is something out of whack there? Do other photos scan correctly?
