I’ve been hoping for a while that Photoshop would let you have that same gray margin you see when zoomed out ("extra" space around your live image) when zoomed in…

If I need to work close to an edge, the ruler/edge kind of gets in the way.

Any way to do this?

thx
Andrew

Which version are you using? In Photoshop CS, you can pan past the edge into the gray area. I was also hoping for this feature for a long time, and thankfully it appeared in Photoshop CS.

Greetings Conrad,

I am indeed using CS… and cannot pan past the edge!

Is there a setting that allows this to be done?

cheers

Hit F first, then try. Only works in the full screen modes.

And there it is.

Wonder why they only did it for fullscreen?

Well, anyway, thanks guys!

Oh. Whoops, sorry. I didn’t account for the fact that I work in full screen mode most of the time. Now that you mention it, it would be nice to have this featured in window mode.
