Use a high resolution.

Even though fonts are usually vector shapes and some printers "know" this when printing text, Photoshop effects, filters and layer styles can throw a proverbial stick in the spokes if the resolution is too low. A resolution of at least 300 ppi should work just fine. What you might try doing is create one word in the font of your choice at the desired size, or even a much larger size. Then copy the layer by dragging it to the New Layer Icon at the bottom of the Layer’s Palette. Make one change, the anti-aliasing setting, from none to Sharp. Repeat the layer copy and anti-alias setting process until you have 5 versions of the same word in the same font at the same size. Now print a test copy and see which looks best.
