Adding text box?

Hello—

I’d like to add space below a picture so that I can print a caption with the names, the date, etc.

I’ve done it before with another program, but I can’t figure out how to do it with Elements 4.0.

Advice greatly appreciated.

Donna, what I do is this:-
Open the image
Click on Image>Resize>Canvas Size
Click in top middle anchor box
Increase height by required amount – this will add space below your image filled with your background colour.
Click on the Text tool and add text as required.
As the text is on its own layer it can be moved and transformed as required.
I’m sure there are other ways, but this way works for me 🙂 Hope that helps
