I’m hopeful someone out there can help me determine why images degrade and appear as if grossly magnified (one can see pixels at 25% as if at 200%)within CS as I click on and begin to utilize sliders in any edit mode. Once a slider is released the image pops back to normal. This is a recent problem. I’ve been on CS for quite some time and have never noticed this happening prior to last week.
I run XP/Pro; Epson 2200; 1.2G RAM; scratch disc completely empty second slave drive. Thanks to all.

Go into preferences and turn off the pixel doubling option that you recently turned on.
