sorry,
I tone images in pdf’s by using photoshop cs, the problem I am having is when the toned photo is placed back into the pdf its putting the image upfront instead of in the background. The image blocks the text that’s in the pdf. Is there a link or a patch that tells you how to fix this problem or do I have something turned on in my preferences for photoshop cs or acrobat 6.0.1 that’s causing this problem

This is an Acrobat issue, not a PS issue. The solution (unfortunately) is to stay in Acrobat 5 for this specific workflow… at least until a patch is written for version 6.
