How can I convert an image in jpeg format to one in gif format?I cannot find the gif-option under "Save as"

Try the Save For Web, then choose GIF format. That should do it 🙂

The third option under >Save As is CompuServe GIF. Is that what you are looking for?

To convert a .JPEG file over to .GIF
Go to -File/SaveAs
Under the SaveAsType drop down list select CompuServe (.gif) as this file format was developed by COMPUSERVE.
