saving multiple bmps as jpegs

my digital camera saves all its images as bmps and to save space I’m wanting to convert them over to jpeg. I’ve been using the batch feature to save them one by one, but is there an easier way to do this? Like select a folder and convert the whole thing over, no file saving pref. asked? Its time consuming and there has to be an easier way, right?

In batch be sure and check "override action save as commands".
