Colour lightens when saved as jpg or bmp etc

Hi, i was wondering why, after i have made an image in photoshop, when i save it as anything other than a photoshop file the image lightens. For example the reds go all orangey, any idea why this could be?

Have you checked the colour profiles?

When viewed how?

If viewing outside of Photoshop, you are likely to viewing in a non-colour managed environment.
