Why can’t I contract a selection if I have the whole image selected? I’m using ps 7.0, can I do this in CS/CS2? If not.. why not? 🙂
The Contract Selection tool works by going to any place where there are unselected portions of the image and expanding them. If there are NO unselected portions, there’s nothing to expand. Just like the Expand Selection does nothing when you have nothing selected. I guess "Contract Selection" is something of a misnomer. A more accurate description of the tool would be "Expand Unselection", but that would just be confusing.
