‘Select a recipe’ from How To dialog box is grayed out. Deleted Preference settings using Ctrl-Alt-Shift as recommended, but this didn’t reinstall the recipes. Would like to avoid a program re-install. Am using Windows XP…Any suggestions???

Lou,

Our computer club experienced a similar event in our computer lab. It sure was frustrating having to continually reinstall the program. We finally were able to determine that it was caused in our case, by running a program called DISK CLEANUP on a daily basis to remove various files such as those as temporary internet files. In the settings we found that it tracked and considered all files with the extension of HTM or HTML to be the same and cleaned them out daily. The recipes ( help ) files fit into this category of file extensions and were being deleted each day. We went in to the configuration for the program and changed the settings so the program wouldn’t automatically delete these recipe files daily. It has worked like a charm ever since. You may be experiencing a similar problem.
