I would like to create an oval picture. This has to be easy, but my hard drive (memory) fails me. I would appreciate your help. Dick Ross

You might give some more info.

But well, you have your picture, use the Marquee Tool to make your oval shape at right size and position. Select Inverse and delete……that cannot ask much from your memory.
