How can I select an area of a photo and then stretch that area to a new size. For example; select a nose and pull the end of it out to a new longer shape without too much distortion?

Or, Thanos, what you may be looking for is Select>Transform Selection. Depends on whether you’re trying to transform just the selection or the pixels themselves within the selection.

From your example (re-shaping a nose), you might also want to try one of the liquify filters.
