I am trying to edit an animated gif in Imageready but when I make changes in one frame, I make changes in all of them. I want to edit one frame at the time. What am I doing wrong?

Change your frames into layers.
Then go through each frame and make sure that only the layers you want to see in that frame are visible.
You can then make duplicate layers etc where needed and edit them
