We were able to directly edit after using the gradient tool (G) with Gradient Editor and would see our graphic change due to the sync capabilities of Photoshop versions below CS3. Now there is no real-time editing when adding a gradient within a selection and using Gradient Editor.

Way that it must be done now is through, Layer Style’s Gradient Overlay Panel. There is then, real-time editing in which you can see exactly what your changing.

Please feel free to contact me regarding this minor situation that I have found a work around to.

Thank You

I think you’re confusing the gradient tool – which is not a dynamic effect, and has to be applied again to change the gradient (no preview); with the gradient fill adjustment layer.
