I am using a perfectly good pencil but when I scan in black and white my black lines are all cracked up with white going through them, so I was wondering how would I create a solid black line in photoshop? if turning the image black and white in photoshop is the answer, how do I do that? Thanks.

Tyler,

Scan as greyscale, alter the levels (or via curves) in Photoshop and then convert to Bitmap

Try a Median or Blur filter first, then Levels, then Bitmap (50% threshold).
