I posted a message "Feathering effect looks like harsh water color" and got only one answer. The answer was greatly appreciated, however, I tried the advice and got no difference at all. I’ve tried increasing resolution to 1200 dpi, exporting as every conceivable file format, printing on gloss paper and matt paper; printing straight from Photoshop as well as from Pagemaker. Nothing makes a difference. Does anyone else have this problem? I really need help with this. Thanks in advance.

First of all, make sure that photoshop is set up for 24-bit color? Also, Pagemaker doesn’t support as many colors as photoshop. It’s likely that the colors are becoming out of gamut when you export to Pagemaker, meaning, the two products support different color schemes. Try converting the image to CYMK mode to see if there is any difference.

By the way, you might want to check what color profile you are using (adobe1998,adobe gama…).
