Hi,

For the cover of a print-booklet, I want to use the the layer style "bevel and emboss" for a short text. The problem is, that this text has to be in a certain pantone (spot) color. I thought that this color can only be applied to the text with a new spot channel, but then I cannot use the layer style "bevel and emboss" anymore.

Is there any way to apply the layer style "bevel and emboss" to spot- colored text?

Thank you very much for your help — I’ve been looking for an answer for this one for quite some time…

Greetings, Mark

No. Photoshop treats a spot channel as a special case of an alpha channel. You cannot work in layers in aspot color.

But you are using the wrong tool for the job. Don’t set text for print in Photoshop if you can at all help it. Use Illustrator.
