I purchased the upgrade version of PhotoShop CE. I did not uninstall PhotoShop 7 before installing CE because I figured the install would find Version 7 and remove it. Well, the install of CE went fine but version 7 is still there. So, can I uninstall it now without affecting my CE version? They are in separate directories. Thanks!

Installing one program will not prompt an uninstall of another. Use control panel>add/remove programs to remove PS 7. Keep in mind that if you installed any after-market plugins in PS 7 they will not automatically be available in PS CS unless they are in a plugins directory outside the PS folder. And on a legal issue, once you buy an upgrade, your license is transferred to the new version, not 2 licenses. A grace period is allowed for the learning transistion.

Hi Robert,

Do not uninstall Photoshop 7.0. If it is still working better keep it on your PC.

I uninstalled and now I regret it.

I personally at the moment am having a lot of trouble with CS.

regards Rainer
