I’ve been trying to work with the Render Lighting Effects filter for awhile now, and I am very frustrated.
Basically, I have a large 1024×1024 solid black bitmap on which I need to place a very precise, small white spotlight that is a long oval. I use a white layer to get the desired color of light I want. But if I select a smaller area of the map so I can get my placement correct, the effect of the spotlight becomes very weak. The point closest to the light source barely shows up and most of the rest of the oval is black no matter how high I make the intensity of the light.
Does anyone know how to deal with a problem like this?
