What version of PS? If 7 or above look at the controls in the Brushes Palette. Basically what you need to do is increase the spacing. If the line is curved then Angle Jitter needs to be set to Direction.

In earlier versions you can set the spacing easily but the curved line thing is a bit trickier.

Easy. (PS6 and PS7)

Just make a new doc with these settings.

1. 1 pixiel high by 6 pixels wide (1×6)
2. zoom all the way in as far as you can go.
3. Choose a color from the color pallete
3. Select the pencil tool and make the pencil tool only 1 pixel i size.
4. Paint the first 2 pixels, leave the other ones blank.
5. select all (ctrl A)
6. go to "edit" and select define pattern and type a name of the ne pattern
7. Make another new doc (ctrl N) and make it 300pix width (or howeve wide you want your dotted line to be) by 1pix height (300×1)
8. Go to "edit" and select "fill
9. Choose use "pattern" (from the dropdown) and choose your new patter you created in the list. (it’s the last one) and choose ok. 10. Now you have a 300 pixel wide dotted line.

Copy and paste it anywhere you want or make a new doc at 800pix wid for a longer one. You can also just select the area with the marque tool but make sure it’s only 1 pix high or it wil tile the pattern

Use the pencil tool

Choose a brush from the brushes palette by clickong on it. Choose one that gives the size and type of dots that you want e,g one of the small square ones.

Change the spacing slider to a large number – the higher the number the bigger the gaps between the dots

Put a pencil dot where you want the line to start. Decide where you want the line to end, hold down shift and click.
A dotted line will appear between the two points.

If you like it save it as a new brush
