bevel and emboss

I have a dark gray image. I give it a bevel and emboss and it’s beautiful. Then I go to flatten the layers and some of the beautiful effects of the Bevel and Emboss grey out. They’re just not as sharp and crisp.
I use PS 6. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about that…are there any utilities I can get.

Are you viewing your image at 100%? if not you are not really seeing was is there and sometimes pixels will look different. when doing your bevel and emboss view your image at 100% and then flatten it will you are still at 100% and you shouldnt see any change.
