I run Photoshop 7 on a 3 GHz P4 with 1 GB of RAM and Separate (7200 RPM)hard drives for paging and scratch disks.
The image load time for both PSD and JPEG images seems slow. For example: the following image takes about 50 seconds to open.
Width 30 inches (18,000 pixels)
Height 19.7 inches (11,828 pixels)
Resolution 600 pixels/inch
Pixel Dimensions 609.2 M
Is this a reasonable time to open the file?
What can be done to improve the performance
