Show Extra and Fit to Screen

In PS CS, if Show Extra is enabled, Zoom with Fit to Screen (CNTL-0) displays a window with a border around the image. With Show Extra disabled, the border disappears. Is there a way to get rid of that border when Show Extra is enabled? Thanks.
