Does anyone know how to reproduce a ‘cross-process’ effect (transparency processed as a negative or vice-versa)from a normally processed image, using PS?

David,

Not sure exactly what you mean…but if you are trying to make a normal image like a negative, you can maybe try this:

1)Convert your image to grayscale mode (Image>Mode>Grayscale)

2)Then invert the image: Image>Adjustments>Invert or ctrl+I

This is typically what a black and white negative would look like.

davidbanks…Martin Evening’s book, Adobe Photoshop 6.0 for Photographers has tutorials on crossprocessing. (page 346)

He may have a PS 7 book out now…probably has the same tutorial. Basically he uses curves and channel mixer
