Elements 3.0

When ever I pug my USB drive into the computer Elements 3 starts and wants to download the pictures. How can I shut this off and do it manually if I chose?

Thanks in advance… Bob

Bob,

How I hate these auto launch features that want to help! If you are familiar with the Windows XP registry, you can change the setting here (be careful not to break your machine):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Photoshop
Elements\3.0\Organizer\AutoLaunchOnDeviceConnect = 0

Not sure where it is but I know for sure there is a setting in the menus somewhere.

Bob,

If you find a menu for that I would love to know where, because I looked and could not find it.

I’m getting in on this thread late. If you are talking about how to make the Album function of Elements 3.0 NOT open pictures from the camera and card reader, do this.

Open the Album

From EDIT select Preferences – Camera or Card Reader

Un-tic the USE ADOBE TO GET, etc.

It won’t open the file album when you hook up your camera or card to the computer, then.

Tom,

Ah, it’s in the Album. Thanks for letting us know.

You’re welcome – hope it helps. It drove me crazy for a while, too. "Charles Kerekes" wrote in message
