I have Photoshop 5.5 and am trying to drag the Comix Action ATN file onto my open window but I keep getting the message:
Could not open document because Photoshop does not recognize the file extension. How do I get photoshop to recognize this extension? I’m new to this so any help is very appreciated, thanks.

Hello Stephanie,
Open the Actions palette’s menu (tiny arrow at the palette top) > select "Load Actions" item > find "Comix Action.ATN" on your computer > load it

Thanks Andrei, I did that and now have the message that it couldn’t be loaded because it’s not compatible with this version (which is 5.5) of photoshop. So I guess I’m out of luck until I can afford a newer version, thanks anyways! 🙂

Yes, the actions standards changed between 5.5 and later versions.

The actions standards changed between 5.5 and later versions.

In other words actions written in PS versions 6.0 and later are incompatible with PS 5.5 and earlier versions. Unfortunately that applies to most actions available for download these days from popular sites like <http://www.atncentral.com>.
