When I start PS immediately after loading preferences a box appears on top of the PS load-up screen and the load-up process comes to a halt. At the top of the box it says "Windows Live ID" and below are fill-in blanks to sign up to Windows Live–which I don’t want to do. (In frustration I decided to sign-up just to get rid of it. But the sign-up was unable to connect to the internet and returned me where I started.)

When I close the box it disappears and start up of PS continues hung up. When I press control shift delete the screen shows that PS is not running.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but the problem persists. So I am stuck without being able to use photoshop for my work which is now piling up. Help

Trash/Reset Preferences as per the FAQs. See if that helps.

What version are you using? What OS?
