Just purchased CS 4 Design Standard.

I need a SIMPLE way to convert a book cover and spine into a 3D image often used to depict an e-book. This is the only thing I will ever be doing in 3D. What’s the easiest, simplest method or product?

Look into Google Sketchup. The basic version is a free download and the online tutorials will get you started.

What does an e-book look like? Can you post a sample?

Using 2D transformation tools, one can make basic a 3D box shape in versions of Photoshop from 10 years ago.

Of course, you can always print out your cover art, wrap it around a real book and photograph it. <g>

You might find this easier in Illustrator and then export it as a jpeg or tiff or straight to save for the web and device.

BTW you can then bring this file into Photoshop as a rastered image and refine it in Photoshop or as a smart object. So if you have to adjust the rotation there is no problem.
