Defining a pattern of text produces columns. No good. I want text with random repetition. Any suggestions on how to do it?

Thanks

Make the pattern huge enough that you don’t notice that it repeats.

cheater way to do it…it will repeat but the offset will be digaonal…

1. create new file 640×640 px square

2. place guides to create an interior square 320×320 px square

3. create type in the 320 x 320 px area.

4 duplicate type layer (Rasterize all layers

5. Filter>Other>Offset…offset both horizontal and vertical by 320 pixels.

This will split the center image into 4 corner images that seam down the center of the text.

Once you have created the corner offsets, you can add random text in the horizontal and vertical white space that is left.

Flatten file and then Select>All (Control A) Edit>Define Pattern…
