Using MacBook Pro, intel core 2 duo, OS X 10.5.3
As per someone’s suggestion on this forum, I visited

to learn about making a luminosity mask. The instructions say to press option/cmd/tilde to create the mask on the layer. When I press those keys, I only get a new blank file.
