"More" button missing on palettes

I do not have a "more" button on the right side of my Layers palette and I can’t figure out why or how to put it back. I tried changing the screen resolution but this did not help. Any suggestions?

Larry,

You must have the layers palette in the well. Click on the folder tab where it says "layers", hold and drag it out of the well and on to your work area below, then let go with mouse.

You should now have the "more" button.
