Lost serial number

Last year a friend of my daughter’s gave her his old copy of Adobe Photoshop elements (I think it is 1.0) and the serial number for that copy. Recently our computer’s hard drive crashed and we put in a new one. We went to install Elements but could not find the old serial number. I was wondering if there is anyway that we can install elements or how we even go about getting a serial number for the product. The person who installed the new hard drive no longer has the old one so that is no help. Is there anything we can do. Thank you

If the program was purchased "in the box" and your daughter’s friend transfered ownership, going through Adobe channels, to you, and you registered it, just call Adobe for the serial number.
