Could it be the ICC profile that the two programs are using are different?
In Photoshop, at least, you can hit (on a PC) Shift + CTRL + K to bring up the Colour Settings manager.

Hi,see,
How do I avoid the colors changing when placing an image made in Photoshop into Illustrator?
I make sure the picture is saved as CMYK, but still, when placing it in a file in Illustrator, with a background with the same CMYK value, I can
and it also print, with a completely different color. When I have no background but simply place a file (psd) in Illustrator, the same thing happens, I can see the color has changed, it gets a lot darker.
Any hints you can give me as to how to avoid this from happening?
