EXIF data has a minimal consequence upon image loading.
Understood. Which is why I wondered if it were possible to keep it on that option.
Please share what you find with us.
EXIF data for on-line pictures is quite helpful to the rest who wish to know the details. Some sites (and plug-ins) can show the data, and to be able to search on the metadata is a bonus.
Gladly, John.

Lastly TEST 1c Above image (1a) saved for web (20%) in PSE5:- (file size 97Kb)
No EXIF information.
********************
It’s just a pity I suppose – my web pictures are saved in one place (for uploading), the others are saved in another, for archiving, so those are my PSE defaults.
The only other fiddly option, I suppose, is how can I load the EXIF data back onto a photo prepared for uploading?
