I just bought a new computer, with XP Professional OS. When I try to make an adjustment layer in Photoshop 7, I get no window opening, just an extra layer added to the layer pallette, and then the program freezes. The only way to get out of this is to hit Alt-F4, which erases the added layer. Furthermore, I can’t even do a regular Levels manipulation. Strangely, using Photoshop 6 on the same computer works just fine (PS 7 is an upgrade). I never had this trouble on XP Home OS. How do I fix it? I already uninstalled PS 6 and 7 several times, to no avail.

Thank-you.

Have you changed from a dual monitor display or changed resolutions recently? Sounds like the dialog is off screen.

Check the FAQ.

Right you are. Going back to dual monitors showed me the "missing" controls. Thank-you.
